Welcome to our glorious splashpage!
Theatrical production company Bloomsbury House is the sole proprietorship of Windsor-born artist and educator Martin Ouellette, who writes about himself in the third person only when he is a business. With his wife Carly Morrison-Hart, who has a background in theatrical design, photography, film acting and production, and gallery management, he also runs churchwoodpictures.com, a full-service photography studio located in the historic Sho Arts building in Old Walkerville, which produced all the PR materials you see in our photostream below.
A graduate of the University of Windsor’s Drama and English departments with an Artist in Community Education I/S B.Ed. from Queen’s, Martin’s local directing credits include Marjorie Prime (Bloomsbury House), Evil Dead: The Musical, Not Another High School Murder!, and Pirates of Penzance (Extension-Korda), Fiddler on the Roof (Cardinal Music Productions), Macbeth (Korda Artistic Productions), and Curious George: The Golden Meatball (Bloomsbury House at the Chrysler Theater).
Set design credits include all of the above, as well as Sweeney Todd (Cardinal Music Productions), Brundibar (inTune), True West (Post Productions), Little Mermaid (WLMT), and Singin’ in the Rain (WLMT).
Regionally he is known for playing diverse roles including Dysart in Equus (Post Productions), Bobby in Company, Matt in Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play, Captain Hook in Peter Pant(o), and Cliff in Cabaret (Korda Artistic Productions), Beast in Disney’s Beauty & the Beast and Professor Callahan in Legally Blonde (WLMT), as well as Donkey in Shrek: The Musical and the voice of Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors (Cardinal Music Productions).
Martin’s performance career spans more than two decades, including stints in touring rock music as co-founder of the Toronto-based band Tenth Planet (with music licensed to Red Bull, Nickelodeon, and others) and commercial acting and modeling for corporate clients including Bacardi, Rogers Communications, CTV, Pillsbury, and Molson Canadian.
Recent screen credits include local commercials for clients including CTV, Motor City Community Credit Union, and The Lighting Boutique, several independent and student films, and a feature role on the US cable hit Fear Thy Neighbor. He is represented by Hailey Joy of Fusion Talent.
